Coppell TV Repair LLC offers you a serviced and tested upper buffer board LG EBR73763902 / EBR74864001 / EAX64300101 as shown on the picture and used in LG 50PM9700-UA and others.
EBR74864001 and EBR73763902 are LG part numbers for equivalent boards, both built on the EAX64300101 printed circuit board.
While fully functional, a serviced board is not a recommended substitute for a brand new board for reasons explained below and at length at our blog.
In absence of brand new replacements, however, or if they are too expensive, this can be working solution that with some luck can last long enough to justify investing in.
Before ordering please make sure the board in your TV is the same as this one and run the test described below to verify it needs replacement!

HOW DOES IT WORK
You are purchasing a functional module that is same or 100% compatible with the one advertised in the subject of this listing.
Upon receiving and installing the module in your set you have the option to return your old malfunctioning dud and receive credit towards the purchase price shown here, subject to the below listed conditions.
The board you will receive can be brand new, used or, most commonly, a board serviced by us, Coppell TV Repair LLC.
Unless it is brand new (which is rare for the modules we offer as we specialize in servicing hard to find or expensive TV boards) it is guaranteed the board will be tested by our staff and there will be a label on it attesting to it.
Before placing an order please ensure that this is indeed the board in your set by comparing the number on it.
When this board fails the TV is known to either
1) (most commonly) power on to no image on the display
2) (seemingly less often) Refuse to power on unless the YSUS board is disconnected from the power supply.
The YSUS board is the one sitting on the left side of the TV and the two buffer boards plug into it.
If disconnecting the YSUS board does not allow the TV to remain turned on (without image on the screen), then the problem is likely elsewhere. For the 50PA models it is usually the power supply board, for which we also offer a repair and exchange services.
Sometimes when the buffer fails one can see a burn or crack on some of the ICs - usually (but not always) the top one.
On the 50PA models one great way to test if the top buffer is the problem is to simply disconnect and detach it from the TV, then power on again to see if the bottom of the display shows up normally. On most plasma TV this does not work, but in this case it does.
This is a used and serviced board on which usually one (and sometimes more) ICs have been replaced.
The board has been serviced and tested in a live set for at least 20 minutes by Coppell TV Repair LLC prior to being slated for sale.
You must know that the remaining original ICs on the board are worn out and near the end of their life, thus effectively decreasing the life expectancy of the board.
For that reason, and also because an improper approach to the repair proces (e.g. failing to ensure the Y-Main board is functioning properly before attaching buffer boards to it) can result in damage to the boards, THERE IS NO WARRANTY FOR THE BOARDS PURCHASED THROUGH THIS LISTING!
If you doubt that we will sell you a malfunctioning board you have two options: either do not buy or ask us to make a video of the board we are going to send working in a live set.
We do not warrant DOA cases either since an improper or incomplete repair of the other boards in the TV may and is known to cause instant damage to the buffers (sometimes one and most of the times both).
REQUIREMENTS FOR RECEIVING CREDIT FOR YOUR OLD MODULE
Upon receiving and installing the purchased module you can return your old one to receive the advertised credit.
The credit will normally be issued as a partial refund towards your original payment; when this is impossible or inapplicable we may use other forms of payment such as PayPal or check.
It takes 2-3 business days after the delivery of your board to us for it to be processed and the refund issued.
In order to receive the full advertised credit the returned dud must meet all of the following conditions:
1) It must be sent back within 14 calendar days of the delivery of the module you purchased from us, both per carriers' records. Make sure you keep your tracking number, you may need it!
2) The board must arrive in good physical condition allowing subsequent electrical repair and reuse of the board. Sometimes when components fail and burn they also leave burn marks on the board. Most of the time such traces are not affecting the ability to restore the board's functionality, but in some extreme cases this may be a problem.
3) The board must not have missing or replaced components or have otherwise been tampered with.
Exceptions vary from all 3 listed conditions, but we reserve the right to be the judge on whether your board qualifies for an exception.
If a board arrives that does not meet the above conditions and we do not consider it appropriate for extension we will contact you and offer you to get it back for the sole cost of the return shipping and/or offer you a trade-in price we consider reflecting its condition.
The returned module must arrive in good physical condition and without previous traces of repairs or tampering in order to qualify for the full advertised credit.
Modules that do not meet those criteria will be subjected to partial refund or no refund at all (depending on their condition and trade-in value).
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. Do you sell brand new buffer boards EBR73763902 or the pair?
A. At this time we do not. Things may change in future.
Q. The buffer you sold me is defective, I want my money back.
A. THERE IS NO WARRANTY FOR THE BOARDS PURCHASED THROUGH THIS LISTING!
However, if you have a horizontal line or a strip you may keep on reading.
Q. After installing the buffer board I have one hair line through the screen (may be a wider section too).
A. A horizontal line in plasma TVs is normally caused by one of the following:
a) Bad connection with the display's tracks in the buffer board connection, usually due to uneven / partial insertion of the display in the connector. There are two little ears at the end of the plug-in flex - make sure those are in the right channels in the connector.
Mis-alignment can easily lead to buffer burning.
b) Bad solder joint (either open or shorted with a neighbour leg) of an IC on the buffer.
This would naturally only happen on ICs that were replaced, i.e. the ones we serviced.
Open circuits result in flat out black lines on the display that remain black and they can be as thin as a single row or thicker.
We usually spot them, but at the time of writing this our own testing unit has a defective panel (see below) where 3 or 4 rows are missing and that creates an opportunity to miss on an open solder join.
After having done hundreds of buffer boards we are confident enough that the odds of us missing on that are reasonably low.
Shorted pins are the other soldering defect and they result in either immediately failure or, more likely, in two adacent lines on the display affecting each other, showing like an uneven line in the picture that just doesn't fit with the picture, but is not black.
If you have that problem you can send the board back and we'll double-check it and eventually fix or replace it. This is the ONLY exception to the no warranty rule!
c) Bad panel can cause horizontal line. This is extremely rare in our experience , but we've seen TWO LG panels from the 50PA TV series to have a defect where a few lines are just dead. One is our own testing unit at the time of creating this listing.
It may be a malchance or there may be a series of those panels that develop the issue.
If the problem is caused by a bad connection between the cable and the glass display (and there aren't many options on what else it could be) then such a panel *can* be causing the buffers to fail due to the high voltage arcs between the glass and the detached cable; such arcs cause voltage and current spikes that may damage the ICs and that is yet another reason why we would not give warranty to the buffers we sell.
